imbd_metadata_naming

This is an old revision of the document!

Sometimes you can get a wrong result when using the online metadata sources. You can 'help' Serviio by providing IMDB ID for the given movie (series not supported) in the file name or the parent folder.

IMDB ID has the form of 'tt' followed by 7 digits. You can find it in the address bar of the IMDB movie page.

In this case, you could store your movie as:

  • /some/path/Avengers tt0848228/file.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers (tt0848228)/file.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers [tt0848228]/file.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers tt0848228.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers (tt0848228).mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers [tt0848228].mp4
Please note that the metadata is still searched using themoviedb.org. Therefore the movie has to be present in both, IMBD and TheMovieDB websites.
