imbd_metadata_naming

Since v 1.5

Sometimes you can get a wrong result when using the online metadata sources. You can 'help' Serviio by providing IMDB ID for the given movie or episode in the file name or the parent folder.

IMDB ID has the form of 'tt' followed by 7 digits. You can find it in the address bar of the IMDB movie or episode page.

In this case, you could store your movie as:

  • /some/path/Avengers tt0848228/file.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers (tt0848228)/file.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers [tt0848228]/file.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers tt0848228.mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers (tt0848228).mp4
  • /some/path/Avengers [tt0848228].mp4

For episodes, the case is the same. The IMDB ID in the file name is the ID of the Series (not the episode). Some examples include:

  • /some/path/Friends/episode tt0756483.mp4
  • /some/path/Friends/episode (tt0756483).mp4
  • /some/path/Friends/episode [tt0756483].mp4
Please note that the movie metadata is still searched using themoviedb.org. Therefore the movie has to be present in both, IMBD and TheMovieDB websites.
Please note that the episode metadata is still searched using thetvdb.com. Therefore the episodehas to be present in both, IMBD and TheTVDB websites.
