2014-12-29 This was tested on CentOS 7 with Serviio 1.41. Prerequisites 1. SELinux is disabled 2. As of Nov 27, 2017 the newest version is Serviio 1.9 Debian 8 (Jessie) adds back ffmpeg, so there is no need for an extra PPA. Install required software if not already installed:

This installation is based on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, Minimal Edition, Ubuntu 20.04 Netboot, Xubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu Server 24.04 Normal Installation, and Linux Mint 22.1 with the Cinnamon Desktop (but this should work for any version of Ubuntu 18.04 - 24.04 or any desktop variant with the Ubuntu repositories integrated). At the time of the updating this document (February 9, 2025), the newest version of Serviio is 2.4.
